Kerry Pogson
has joined Year-End Ready Bookkeeping as a full-time professional bookkeeper. Kerry has been with the firm part-time since December 2009. Kerry is enrolled in CGA and will complete Level 3 by fall. Year-End Ready Bookkeeping provides bookkeeping services for small and home-based businesses.
Diane Ives
has been certified as a professional bookkeeper by the Institute of Professional Bookkeepers of Canada. Ives owns D Ives Consulting.
Trudy Turner
has been appointed business development manager for Imperial Properties, Manitoba's first company specializing in property management for condominium corporations. Turner has 20 years of sales and marketing experience and several years in community development.
AWARDS
Karen Lewicki
has been awarded the George E. Wilson Award for Excellence, given annually to the Canadian accredited insurance broker with the highest average mark. Lewicki received this award at the annual Insurance Brokers Association of Manitoba convention on April 30. She is a broker with Gemstar Insurance at 3034 Portage Ave.
Julie Jacobs
was presented with a special-recognition award for outstanding performance and community service in Western Canada in 2009 at the Welcome Wagon 80th anniversary spring conference in Brandon on April 24. She has been with Welcome Wagon since 1984. Welcome Wagon Ltd. of Winnipeg also received a special-recognition award for outstanding community service in 2009.
Bison Transport
received the 2010 Supply Chain & Logistics (SCL) Green Supply Chain Award. The award was presented to Don Streuber, president and CEO, at SCL's conference in Woodbridge, Ont. Bison was selected for its ongoing commitment to reducing the amount of carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide by continuing to improve upon the environmental performance of its freight operations.
Habitat for Humanity Winnipeg and Vern Koop
were recognized at the 2010 Habitat for Humanity national conference. The organization was given Canadian Affiliate of the Year Award for its sustainable building practices, which include energy-efficient homes that meet the Manitoba Hydro Power Smart Gold standard and LEED certification, as well as its long-term funding partnerships. Koop, director of construction, received the Kenneth J. Meinert Leadership Award for his years of leadership demonstrating compassion, humility, selflessness, determination and honesty.
Cadorath Aerospace (Winnipeg)
has earned the 2009 Rolls-Royce Model 250 Award for greatest investment in the global network. The announcement was made by Rolls-Royce during a Heli Expo 2010 awards reception. Cadorath Aerospace (Winnipeg) has been a Rolls-Royce authorized repair facility since 1999. It recently received a nine-year contract renewal from Rolls-Royce.
PATTISON Outdoor Advertising
has won an OBIE Award from the Outdoor Advertising Association of America for creative excellence in outdoor advertising. PATTISON was nominated for its poster campaign for SHINE Dental. Creative director Bob Connor created the design that illustrated the challenges of eating a cob of corn with a missing tooth and how dental implants from Shine could provide the best solution to the problem.
Manitoba Agricultural Hall of Fame Inc.
has announced its inductees for 2010. The six individuals judged to have made a significant and lasting contribution to agriculture in Manitoba during their lifetime are: John Cameron (Cam) Brown of Winnipeg; Anton (posthumously) and Adeline Chorney of East Selkirk; Doug Fletcher (posthumously), formerly of Carman; Hugh Jameson of Brandon; Jacob Schulz (posthumously), formerly of Grandview.
Number TEN Architectural Group
was recognized by the American Institute of Architects, Academy of Architecture for Justice, in Washington, D.C. The group's work in Iqaluit will be published in the 2010 Justice Facilities Review. The review offers the profession an indicator of proven strategies and the latest trends in design and construction of justice facilities in North America.

Meals on Wheels
