AWARDS
New Flyer Industries
has been named one of Canada's Greenest Employers for 2009 for the second consecutive year by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers. "Receiving this recognition for the second consecutive year is a great honour," New Flyer president Paul Soubry said. "With millions of people riding our buses every day across North America, it's our responsibility to build environmentally friendly heavy-duty transit vehicles in a sustainable manner." New Flyer operates a Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) reduction program, the backbone of its pollution-prevention activities. Since 2004, the facility has reduced VOC emission per production vehicle by approximately 50 per cent. This program is currently focused on the elimination of aerosol cleaning products to reduce VOC emissions by an additional two per cent.
