Two deals for New Flyer

WINNIPEG bus maker New Flyer Industries closed two deals Friday with the Grand River Transit from the Region of Waterloo and Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority that could mean as many as 252 buses.

The deal with Grand River Transit is a five-year contract for up to 123, 40-foot Xcelsior clean diesel-powered buses.

The Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority sale is for 129 40-foot clean diesel-powered Xcelsior buses.

The initial Waterloo order for 18 of the Xcelsior buses will begin production in the first quarter of next year and is expected to be delivered in the second quarter of 2013. The 33 Xcelsior buses for the Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority will begin production immediately.
