THE new owner of an Internet marketing company is going to put his oars in the water but he isn't going to rock the boat.
Jim Buchanan, who has acquired Hep Communications from John Heppenstall, is on the lookout for growth and expansion opportunities, but not at the expense of what has been built up during the past decade.
"I'm going to look at where we can take the company but very carefully. Sometimes when you do silly things it tends to explode. I'm certainly not willing to put in jeopardy what (Heppenstall) has built," he said.
For starters, the company name -- and Heppenstall's nickname -- will remain.
"It's got a good reputation in the market and a strong presence as a marketing agency. I don't want to undo that," said Buchanan, who recently sold his document-management company, Novus Imaging.
Hep, which has 10 employees, focuses on combining new and traditional media to help its small and medium-sized customers generate new business. Some of its customers include Creditaid, a credit-counselling service, and Western Turbo & Fuel Injection, a diesel service centre for diesel engines.
