IRON MAIDEN

Flight 666, The Film (EMI)

ACES High takes on a whole new meaning for Iron Maiden in this new documentary by Canadian filmmakers Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn (Metal: A Headbanger's Journey; Global Metal). The two-hour film chronicles the adventures of the British metal legends as they embark on a worldwide journey, playing 23 concerts in 21 cities from Mumbai to Toronto, flying to each show in their customized Boeing 757, Ed Force One, with lead vocalist Bruce Dickinson handling all piloting duties.

The sheer logistics of the first leg of last year's Somewhere Back in Time tour (which stopped in Winnipeg in June 2008) is simply stunning, with the band, their families, the 70-member crew and 12 tonnes of equipment flying nearly 60,000 kilometres to bring the group's greatest hits to crazed fans in off-the-beaten-path locales like Costa Rica, Colombia and Puerto Rico.

There are a few Iron Maiden documentaries out there but this DVD should rank as must-see viewing for any true fan. Includes a second disc of each song shot in a different city. 'Ö'Ö'Ö'Ö
