2 golfers in same group hit consecutive holes-in-one at Australian Open course
SYDNEY - Two club golfers playing The Lakes — site of the Australian Open beginning Dec. 6 — hit consecutive holes-in-one on the par-3 ninth hole Wednesday.
Peter Hough and Jonathan Cook had the back-to-back aces with Hough, a member at The Lakes, holing out first on the 136-yard hole. Both used 7-irons.
Cook, a member at the nearby Beverley Park club, said "the whole place went nuts."
The National Hole in One Registry website in the United States quotes the odds of two players from the same foursome acing the same hole as 17 million to one.
