Grey Cup to embark on tour of Canada as part of 100th anniversary celebrations
TORONTO - The Grey Cup is going on the road.
The CFL has announced the historic trophy will tour Canada by train as part of the Grey Cup's 100th anniversary celebration.
The tour will make 100 stops across Canada, including all eight CFL cities.
It will also appear in Ottawa, Quebec City, Moncton and Halifax.
The Grey Cup will be aboard a specially retrofitted train that includes a car showcasing the trophy, a special museum car capturing its storied history, as well as a team car.
In areas not directly accessible by rail, the Grey Cup will be transported by road to other nearby cities and towns.
The 100th anniversary celebration will culminate with the Grey Cup game in November at Rogers Centre.
