More than 10 kg of heroin found in suitcase at Toronto's Pearson: CBSA

TORONTO - Customs officials say they seized more than 10 kilograms of heroin hidden in a suitcase that arrived at Toronto's Pearson airport from Pakistan.

The Canada Border Services Agency announced the seizure Monday, saying the drug has been turned over to police in Peel region.

The agency says customs officers spotted several "suspicious" pieces of luggage coming off a flight from Pakistan on Feb. 19.

A closer examination found one suitcase tested positive for narcotics.

The CBSA says the narcotics were later confirmed to be heroin.

Police say no arrest has been made so far but the investigation continues.
