New shows from the Trailer Park Boys, comic Kenny Hotz head to Action

TORONTO - New series from the Trailer Park Boys and "Kenny vs. Spenny" star Kenny Hotz are headed to Action.

The specialty channel says "The Drunk and on Drugs Happy Funtime Hour" and "Kenny Hotz’s Triumph of the Will" both debut July 22.

"The Drunk and on Drugs Happy Funtime Hour" reunites "Trailer Park Boys" stars Mike Smith, Robb Wells and J.P. Tremblay in a six-part miniseries about a demented sketch-variety TV show.

The story is set in the fictional town of Port Cockerton, where the cast of "The Happy Funtime Hour" ingest a hallucinogen and believe they are the characters they portray on the show.

Guest stars include Jay Baruchel, Amy Sedaris, John Dunsworth and the late Maury Chaykin.

Meanwhile, "Kenny Hotz’s Triumph of the Will" finds Kenny "taking on nearly impossible missions," like proving that pigs are too smart to be eaten and trying to find love for his widowed mother.

Action says the addition of original Canadian series is a first for the network, where the schedule is dominated by high-octane Hollywood films.
