Ottawa reappoints Michel Roy chairman of Telefilm Canada's board of directors

TORONTO - Michel Roy has been reappointed chairman of Telefilm Canada's board of directors.

Heritage Minister James Moore says the federal government renewed Roy's mandate for five years.

Telefilm's executive director Carolle Brabant says she's "delighted" with the news.

She credits Roy with redefining the agency's vision and strengthening ties with clients.

Roy previously worked as a bureaucrat in the Quebec government.

His creative credits include working in television production in the 1960s, producing two jazz albums and authoring a biography of hockey goaltender Patrick Roy.
