'Real Housewives of Vancouver' includes pageant queen, winery owner

VANCOUVER - A Canuck version of the salacious "Real Housewives" franchise will feature a former pageant queen, a self-made businesswoman and a "free-spirited jet-setter."

"The Real Housewives of Vancouver" arrives next month with the spotlight on five of the city's "most privileged, powerful and glamorous women."

Slice says they include "free-spirited jet-setter" Christina Kiesel, self-made businesswoman Jody Claman, former pageant queen Mary Zilba, "adrenalin junkie" Reiko MacKenzie and winery owner Ronnie Seterdahl Negus.

The broadcaster promises "intimate and often outrageous details" about the women's relationships, career, sex lives and family.

It's a spinoff to the popular U.S. series, which chronicles the extravagant lives of wealthy women as they shop, party and squabble.

"The Real Housewives of Vancouver" debuts with a two-hour premiere April 4 on Slice.

It follows over-the-top editions set in Orange County, New York City, Atlanta, New Jersey, Beverly Hills, Miami, D.C. and most recently, Athens, Israel and France.

"The Real Housewives of Vancouver is packed with all of the juiciest story lines, drama, power, wealth and glamour that viewers love about the huge, international hit franchise," Barbara Williams, Shaw Media's senior vice president of content, said Tuesday in a statement.

"Every episode will leave people wanting more."
