Police in Saskatchewan looking for culprit who shot and killed five cows

SALTCOATS, Sask. - Police in southeastern Saskatchewan are looking for the culprit who shot and killed five cows and injured a sixth.

RCMP say the rural Yorkton detachment was contacted on Sunday by a farmer who discovered the animals near Saltcoats.

The loss to the owner is estimated at about $10,000.

An investigation has begun with the help of a forensics unit, police dog services, rural and provincial officials and local veterinarians.
