Chamber adds 2008th member
"At the beginning we thought it might be impossible, but through the efforts of our board, volunteers and sales team, we succeeded in reaching that target and growing our membership by over 25 per cent over the past five years," chamber president and CEO Dave Angus said.
The organization ended its fiscal year in June with 2,016 members.
Jerry Booth, an Internet marketing guru and CEO of Fresh Traffic Group, was recognized at a chamber luncheon Monday as the group's 2,008th member.
Angus said the Winnipeg chamber has been recognized by the American Chambers of Commerce Executives (ACCE), which represents more than 1,400 chambers of commerce of all sizes across North America, as one of the top 10 chambers for attracting new members.
The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1873.
