Time again for the Fall Parade of Homes
Most of us have witnessed a flurry of activity in and around the city.
That flurry is the finishing touches being put on 127 new homes in readiness for the 2012 Fall Parade of Homes Sept. 15 through Oct. 6.
Close to 40,000 people are expected to visit the 127 Parade entries. We are pleased to be able to offer homes for viewing in 29 subdivisions.
Although most are located in Winnipeg, this year's Parade also features new homes in Steinbach, Oakbank, Stonewall, LaSalle, Ile des Chenes, East St. Paul, Headingley, Oak Bluff, Elie and Brandon. These homes have been built by 35 new-home builders, the best in their craft.
The MHBA Parade of Homes is the largest and most popular such event in Canada. Some cities try to operate their event by websites with no home visitation. Some run it just for one weekend. Most don't even try to match what we have in Manitoba.
Ours is the best-attended, the longest-running and the most informative.
Every builder with a home in the Parade welcomes the public to visit their show home and talk to the new-home sales agent. Although you are certainly going to acquire a taste of the new-home experience during the Parade, they also want you to return to meet in a quieter setting to discuss the home in more detail.
Each of the show homes is unique. Be certain to ask about special features that make this house the right one for you. With such a wide selection available, you will undoubtedly be surrounded with outstanding ideas and concepts that will make the Fall Parade an enlightening and enjoyable experience.
Plan now to visit as many of the new show homes as possible. The dream home that you've been looking for is waiting for you at the 2012 Fall Parade of Homes.
Parade Note: It's still not too late to register as a judge for the Fall Parade of Homes. Judges generally visit five homes in a category and evaluate them against other homes in a similar price range.
As a consumer, your opinion is important to the new-home builders and the industry in general. Call 925-2560 or e-mail info@homebuilders.mb.ca to be a part of this year's Fall Parade of Homes.
Mike Moore is president of the Manitoba Home Builders' Association.
