Man in hospital after fight

A 41-year-old man is in hospital after being stabbed during a fight on Friday.

Winnipeg police said on Saturday the man was rushed to hospital after being stabbed in the upper body. There has been no update on his condition.

Police said a group of people were socializing together in the 500 block of Balmoral Street at about 10:45 p.m., when the victim and another man got into a verbal dispute, which then escalated.

Police said a man was arrested at the scene.

A 36-year-old man is facing charges of aggravated assault and possessing a dangerous weapon.

The man has been detained in custody.
