Alexander Avenue shooting victim's condition upgraded to stable

A 25-year-old man shot on Alexander Avenue Saturday night has been upgraded to stable condition.

Several police cruisers rushed to the 600 block of Alexander at around 10 p.m. Saturday after reports a person was shot in the upper thigh. By 10:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service tactical unit had surrounded a building on Alexander Avenue a few blocks west of Sherbrook Street.

A 25-year-old man was taken to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable.

Polie say it appears a group of people were outside when an altercation took place that ended with the man being shot.

Police have not released any information on potential suspects or charges.
