Weather warning issued for freezing rain

A freezing rain warning has been issued for the City of Winnipeg.

The Environment Canada weather office said a band of freezing rain is expected to form over Western Manitoba this afternoon. In the late afternoon and this evening, it will move across the Red River Valley and Southeastern Manitoba.

The risk of freezing rain in the area will end this evening as the band moves farther east into Northwestern Ontario.

It will be mainly cloudy tonight with a low of -9 C.

On Thursday, a mix of sun and cloud is expected in the morning with winds gusting up to 60 km/h and a low of -9 C.

The sun will reappear on Friday with a high of -14 C and a low of -19 C.

Snow is expected on Saturday along with a high of -14 C and a low of -20 C. Sunny skies are expected to continue on Sunday with a high of -18 Cand a low of -22 C.
