Suspect wanted for assault faces firearms-related charges

RCMP have a warrant for the arrest of Thomas Turner, 25 of Reynolds who has been charged with assault and numerous firearms offences after he allegedly pointed a long-barrelled firearm at another man’s head and punched the man in the face last month.

The incident occurred on July 16 at about 7:30 p.m. During the investigation, RCMP seized a number of firearms from a residence in La Broquerie that police suspect were stolen. A Steinbach RCMP spokesman said he could not disclose the type of firearms as it would jeopardize the investigation.

Turner has been charged with assault, the possession of stolen firearms obtained by crime, breach of probation and a number of related firearm offences.

Turner is known to drive a 1993 Blue Chevrolet 3500 truck with an unknown licence plate.

Anyone with knowledge of Turner’s location is asked to call police immediately and to not approach him as he is considered armed and dangerous. Call Steinbach RCMP at (204) 326-4452 or Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
