Support campaign in Moose box seats auction
My bosses at the Winnipeg Free Press have generously agreed to donate the use of the newspaper's own box seats in the MTS Centre for an upcoming Manitoba Moose game.
Imagine -- you and 15 of your buddies can watch the Moose defeat the Quad City Flames while sitting in prime seats on Saturday, Dec. 20, at 7:30 p.m. Or maybe it's your kid's hockey team you want to bring.
This box, one of 46 in the building, has some of the best seats in the "Phone Booth" -- it looks out on centre ice.
Forget having to wade through crowds to get to the washrooms or get a drink or snack. The private concourse that rings the building is exclusive for box holders.
Or don't walk at all. You'll have your own private server to take your order. Unfortunately, you'll still have to pull out your own wallet for drinks and food.
Heck, the box even has a television so you don't even have to watch the Moose if you bring someone who wants to watch something else between periods.
And as a special addition, Tim Campbell, our sports reporter who covers the Moose, will come down between the first and second periods to give you his view of how the game is going.
The box is worth about $700, but we'll give it to whoever has the highest bid on Dec. 16 at 5 p.m.
Bids can be sent via email to kevin.rollason@freepress.mb.ca or call me at 697-7259.
Remember, you'll see a hockey game, but your generosity will help the people whom the Christmas Cheer Board assists this festive season.
As well, you'll also help Winnipeg Harvest. Let's see if we can put hunger in the penalty box this year.
Thanks to these generous donors:
