47-year-old man dead after rollover on Highway 17

A 47-year-old man is dead after being ejected from his truck when it rolled over on Highway 17.

RCMP say the man, who was from the RM of Eriksdale, was headed south near Road 91 north just before 11:00 p.m. Saturday when his 2008 Ford pick-up truck left the roadway and rolled over at least once.

The man is thought to have not been wearing a seatbelt. Teulon RCMP along with local emergency crews responded to the accident, and the man was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name is not being released at this time.

No other people or vehicles were involved in the crash and the highway is open again after it closed for several hours during the investigation. Police continue to investigate.
