Alcohol believed to be factor in fatal rollover

A 17-year-old Winnipeg girl died in a single vehicle rollover just after midnight in the R.M. of DeSalaberry, RCMP said today.

A 24-year-old woman from St. Pierre Jolys was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said Sgt. Line Karpish.

The fatality occurred on Gauthier Road and alcohol is believed to be a factor, Karpish said.

"Initial investigation indicates that the driver of the car lost control on the gravel road and rolled," Karpish said. "An RCMP Traffic Collision Analyst attended the scene and is assisting with the ongoing investigation."
