A Manitoba educational assistant has been accused of having explicit sexual conversations with two teen students over Facebook.

RCMP arrested the 22-year-old man this week after getting a call from a concerned mother in the community of Leaf Rapids. They say the accused was engaging in "inappropriate personal interaction" with two girls under the age of 14. No other details were provided by police.

Douglas Brayley, 22, has now been charged with sexual assault and sexual interference. None of the allegations have been proven and he is presumed innocent.

Brayley was released on a promise to appear in court in November under strict conditions which include having no contact with children under the age of 16 and not going on the Internet. He has been suspended from the school pending the resolution of his legal case.

This is the second case to surface this week in Manitoba involving a school employee accused of improper conduct with students.

A 36-year-old female employee was suspended from her school in Flin Flon Tuesday after she was accused of sexually assaulting an underage boy.

Kristina Richelle Lies, who has worked for three years as a parent-child co-ordinator, is charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and sexual exploitation. Police have not released the age of the victim. Ruth Betts Community School, where Lies works, teaches students  kindergarten to Grade 8.

RCMP Sgt. Line Karpish said police began an investigation Aug. 26 after being "contacted over concerns expressed that a teenage youth may have been sexually assaulted by an employee at a Flin Flon school."

Lies was described by school officials as a support staff member who worked in the child and family room.
