Arctic air blast brings wind-chill alert

The Red River Valley and much of southern Manitoba remain under the second wind-chill alert this week, with values of -40C to -43C.
For the morning rush hour it means exhaust fog and slippery intersections.
Forecasters warn the Arctic air mass will stay parked until the end of the week. By the weekend we can expect some relief. Highs Saturday are forecast at -12C , normal for this time of year.
Environment Canada says this morning’s extreme wind chills will ease up this afternoon, with a high of -22.C .
We’re back in the deep freeze tonight with another blast of Arctic air overnight. Expect extreme wind chill values on Wednesday morning.
