The Salvation Army will be serving a "festive feast of Christmas cheer" today at its Winnipeg Booth Centre.
Staff and volunteers will serve a traditional Christmas dinner with turkey, ham, potatoes, gravy and desserts.
"We expect to serve over 1,000 guests from our community this year," said executive director Major Christopher Dickens in a press release.
To prepare for the feast, the Salvation Army will be cooking 40 turkeys, 300 pounds of mashed potatoes, 15 gallons of gravy, 300 pounds of black forest ham, 300 pounds of mixed vegetables and 400 cream pies.
Entertainment will also be provided.
The sittings will begin at 4:30 p.m. at 180 Henry Ave., and there will be additional sittings at 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
