Artis REIT announces four more deals

Artis Real Estate Investment Trust continues to build on it busiest year on record after announcing four more deals to purchase commercial properties in Eastern and Western Canada.

The Winnipeg-based REIT said today the new deals include two acquisitions and two unconditional agreements to purchase.

The acquisitions are worth a total of $44.9 million, and include a portfolio of five industrial buildings in the Greater Toronto area, with a total of 296,795 square feet of leasable space; and a 74,156-square-foot retail development in Saskatoon.

The two purchase agreements, which have a total value of $47.3 million, involve a 83,329-square-foot retail centre in Spruce Grove, Alta., and a 71,654-square-foot industrial property in Acheson, Alta.

Artis said it now has 220 properties, with a total of 23.4 million square feet of leasable space, in its portfolio.
