Ashern man dies early today when snowmobile hits tree
An Ashern man was killed and another man injured when their snowmobiles hit trees early today in the RM of Grahamdale, RCMP said.
The men had been operating their machines on groomed trails about 1:30 a.m. but while making a turn left the trail and struck trees.
A 33-year-old man from Ashern was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
His companion, a 38-year-old man from Moosehorn, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
RCMP said both men were wearing helmets and alcohol is not considered a factor.
The incident remains under investigation.
