Asper Foundation director Gail Asper -- a driving force behind the Canadian Museum for Human Rights -- and Hannah Taylor -- teen founder of the Ladybug Foundation and advocate for the homeless -- will be doing a power lunch on Thursday, Sept. 12.
Both women will be celebrated for their humanitarian efforts at the Power of Humanity Awards Luncheon at the Fort Garry Hotel on that Thursday from noon to 1:30 p.m. Asper will receive the 2013 Humanitarian of the Year award and Taylor will get the 2013 Young Humanitarian of the Year award from the Canadian Red Cross of Manitoba.
"Their tireless efforts have helped make their communities and the world a better place and inspire others to do the same," said Red Cross spokesperson Tansey Buike.
Tickets are $65 and can be purchased by phone at 204-982-7330 or by visiting www.redcross.ca/manitoba. Proceeds from the event will support the humanitarian work of the Red Cross in Manitoba.
