Assiniboine Park Conservancy raises over $2.1M in June

Community support for the Assiniboine Park Conservancy brought the organization over $2.1 million in June.

The donations came in as part of the 30-Day Million Dollar Challenge, in which the Conservancy challenged Manitobans to raise $500,000 to be matched dollar-for-dollar by two anonymous donors. Funds raised will go to the Imagine a Place campaign, a $200 million initiative to revitalize the park and zoo.

"The response was amazing right from the start, so much so that the dollars raised were going to surpass the $500,000 available in matching funds," said Margaret Redmond, President & CEO of the Conservancy. "Then in the last few days of the challenge a third donor was confirmed who wanted to increase the matching funds and, before we knew it, we were over 2 million dollars! It’s incredible!"

After June’s challenge, a total of $113 million has been raised for the Imagine a Place campaign.
