Barber shop damaged in overnight fires

WINNIPEG - Fire fighters were busy around Winnipeg last night, scrambling to a rash of fires that included damage to two garages, a home and a barber shop.

Police were called to the 100 block of St. Anne’s Road just before 3 a.m. today to attend to a barber shop that sustained fire damage to its interior, ceiling and roof. At about the same time on Blenheim, a blaze at an auto repair shop caused $100,000 structural damage and $50,000 damage to content.

A fire that broke out in one residence in a row housing complex on Carriage Road just after 4 a.m. sent three children to the Health Sciences Centre in stable condition for mild smoke inhalation. The fire caused $25,000 damage in the kitchen.

Two garages near Talbot and Chester caught fire near the same time, one causing damage to the house.
The fires’ causes are under investigation.
