Body found on beach was man missing since autumn

An autopsy on a body found Thursday afternoon on Beaconia Beach showed it was a 22-year-old Winnipeg man missing since last fall, RCMP said today.

A person walking along Lake Winnipeg found the body around 4 p.m. Thursday. Foul play is not suspected, said Sgt. Line Karpish.

Next of kin has been notified, and the man’s name will not be released, Karpish said.
