RCMP in The Pas continue to investigate a possible drowning over the weekend.
At 6 p.m. on Saturday, officers and emergency personnel were dispatched to the Clearwater Lake area following a report of a possible drowning.
The investigation determined that a 40-year-old man had been out on a boat fishing with some family members. The boat was approximately a quarter mile out from shore when the man dove into the water to go swimming.
The man did not resurface after diving into the water. An hour later his body was recovered and transported to The Pas Health Complex. Medical personnel were unable to resuscitate the man.
His name will not be released. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
