Brace yourself for brisk day, but warmer temperatures on way

With cold temperatures like today it’s either a good day to crack the books during reading week — or head somewhere for spring break.

But while it’s cold today, it looks like the mercury will be climbing to normal temperatures by the weekend.

Environment Canada reported a temperature of -25 C this morning in Winnipeg, but with the wind chill it feels like -33.

The weather service is predicting today’s temperature will top out at -16 C, but it will be sunny.

But the weather forecasters are saying the temperature on Thursday will reach -11 C, with highs of -10 C for Friday, -8 C for Saturday, and -5 C for Sunday.

The normal high for this time of year is -7 C with a normal low of -17 C.
