Manitobans rejoice! The weather forecast for the Canada Day long weekend looks mighty fine, and it doesn't seem to matter where you live in this great province of ours.
For people sticking around the city, running to the lake or mopping up after way too much water in communities like Reston and Brandon, there's a whole lot of heat and sunshine coming, says Environment Canada.
Even the folks of Churchill could experience temperatures over 30 C this weekend.
Way down south, Winnipeggers can expect a mix of sun and cloud, a 30 per cent chance of rain today and a high of 25 C. For tonight's Winnipeg Blue Bombers' season opener at the new Investors Group Field, there is a slight risk of a thundershower and a temperature around 20 C.
On Friday, the clouds will clear late in the day, setting the stage for a gorgeous weekend. There is nothing but clear skies expected Saturday through Monday, with daytime temperatures hovering around 27 C.
The sunny days continue right through to the middle of next week.
OK, if you're getting out of town, the forecast looks just as positive.
In cottage country, there's the potential for rain today and Friday in communities on both sides of Lake Winnipeg, however, the sunshine hits on Saturday. In Gimli, look for plenty of bright, blue sky Saturday through Tuesday, with daytime highs averaging around 26 C.
It's pretty much the same thing over at Grand Beach, with sunshine and highs of 28 C expected Saturday through Monday.
In the Whiteshell region, there's some rain and clouds today and Friday on the way, but the Canada Day weekend should be spectacular, with plenty of sun and highs of 27 C.
