Cattle truck topples near Brandon

A semi-trailer carrying 64 head of cattle slipped off a rural road southeast of Brandon over the noon-hour.

RCMP said the driver of the rig was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

The incident happened on Provincial Road 103 west, about 14 kilometres south of Brandon in the RM of Cornwallis.

When the northbound rig moved to the side of the road to make way for an approaching vehicle, it went off the edge and into the ditch and turned on its side.

The condition of the cattle is not known at this time.
