Winnipeg has defended its title as home of the largest living Canadian flag.
The Downtown BIZ confirmed that the final tally showed more than 3,000 people were part of the living flag at the legislative grounds on Sunday – more than Calgary, Victoria, and the official challenger, Langley, B.C.
The number of people who were part of the flag reflects the number of t-shirts and wristbands event volunteers gave away on Sunday, although some flag participants chose to wear their own red and white t-shirts to the event, and as a result were not accounted for.
Winnipeg has been the largest flag for two years in a row now.
