City police officer charged after domestic dispute

A 37-year-old city police officer has been arrested and charged with assault following a domestic dispute on Oct. 22.

The incident occurred in the East District of the RCMP, where the spouse of a Winnipeg Police Service officer reported the disturbance at the couple’s residence.

The officer was also charged with two counts of uttering threats. The officer was off duty at the time of the incident and the victim did not require medical treatment, according to the RCMP report.

The name of the officer was not released to protect the identity of the victim.
