A traffic stop in Elmwood late Saturday afternoon has led to a significant police haul of drugs and weapons.

A 39-year-old man, 30-year-old woman, 21-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy face a long list of charges after police searched two residences in the 500 block of Chalmers Avenue. Police are still looking for another male.

Police seized:

  • 12 ounces of methamphetamine worth $90,000
  • 2.5 pounds of marijuana worth $7,500
  • two sawed-off rifles, two assault rifles, a hunting rifle, a shotgun, and several hundred rounds of ammunition
  • throwing knives, bear spray, brass knuckles, and other drug paraphernalia

It all started with a traffic stop near Thames Avenue and Watt Street around 5:50 p.m. Saturday.

Two of the suspects in custody are believed to be related. Const. Jason Michalyshen would not rule out that the offences are gang-related.
