City sets budget dates

The preliminary 2014 operating and capital budgets will be made public Nov. 29.

Council will finalize the 2014 budgets at a special meeting Dec. 17.

In between, councillors and the public will have a chance to make some changes.

Councillors were informed by an email from the clerk’s office today of the budget dates.

Mayor Sam Katz and his executive policy committee will release the preliminary budgets Nov. 29.

This will be followed by a series of standing committee meetings where councillors might be able to tweak the EPC budget:

Dec. 3, Property & Development.

Dec. 5, Protection & Community services.

Dec. 9, Infrastructure Renews & Public Works.

Dec. 12, EPC to hear public delegations on the budget.

Dec. 13, EPC hears standing committee recommendations and tables final recommendations.
