The City of Winnipeg will not fog for mosquitoes tonight due to low mosquito activity.
The citywide average adult mosquito trap count for today was three. All quadrants are well below 100.
"When adult mosquito activity is depressed, fogging is not an effective method of control as the droplets of Malathion must be in the air when the mosquitoes are flying in order to hit and kill the mosquitoes," the city said in a release.
The Insect Control Branch was unable to fog Friday night due to weather conditions.
Fogging will resume when trap counts are near 100 in one or more quadrants of the city, the city said.
An annoucement will be issued at least eight hours before fogging resumes.
