Mayor Sam Katz says the city will give $477,000 to the North End Women's Centre to help women who are homeless or facing addictions.
"Chriss Tetlock Place will serve as a safe haven for women who are trying to get back on their feet," Katz said at the facility's grand opening.
MP Shelley Glover said the funding comes from the federal Homelessness Partnering Strategy which the city administers.
"By working together we are creating community projects and partnerships to improve and create services and facilities for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness," Glover said.
