Cold morning and snow on way... must be mid-January

It’s cold out there this morning, the roads are slick and there’s a chance of flurries before noon.

But cheer up, relief – if only brief – is on its way.

It was -20 C as of 7 a.m. and Environment Canada is calling for a 30 per cent chance of flurries this morning, which should clear up by afternoon.

The high today is expected to reach -17 C and a low tonight of -22 C.

Tuesday is another story. Environment Canada is calling for a high of -8 C, with two to four cm of snow in the afternoon, accompanied by strong winds of 20 km/h to 40 km/h, gusting to 60 km/h in the afternoon.

So, it’ll be a miserable Tuesday even with the warmer temperature.

On Wednesday, it’s back to seasonal weather, with a high of just -18 C and sunny skies.

Environment Canada is calling for it to warm up again for Thursday and Friday, with daytime highs possibly reaching -5 C and -3 C, respectively.
