Nothing says Christmas like weather similar to that of the North Pole.
Environment Canada says the next couple of days in Winnipeg will be chilly.
Today, look for cloudy skies and a high of -24 C. A north wind at 20 km/h will put the wind chill in the -39 range.
Tonight, expect clear skies and a low of -28 C.
Be sure to plug in the car Monday, too. The forecast calls for sunshine and a high of -24 C and a wind chill value in the high -30s.
For those wondering, the daytime high way up in Alert, Nunavut — which isn’t too far from where Santa’s workshop is located — is -22 C with a wind chill value of -32. That’s right, folks, our city is colder than the northern tip of Canada today.
Looking ahead into the week for Winnipeg and the surrounding area, Environment Canada is expecting periods of snow and warmer temperatures (-12 C) for Christmas Eve.
Sunny conditions and a high of -19 C is the forecast for Christmas Day.
