A former Winnipeg doctor has been reprimanded and fined by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba for improper billing.
Dr. Creighton Hui has also been forced to repay Manitoba Health more than $200,000 for billings that he wrongly submitted for work done by a nurse practitioner.
The College handed Hui, who now works in Ontario, a $10,000 fine, the maximum allowed under law. He was also required to pay the cost of the College’s inquiry — $28,160.25.
The questionable billings were incurred for house calls between April 2011 and January 2012.
Hui entered a plea of guilty at a College of Physicians hearing in April.
