WINNIPEG -- Police are warning the public about the release today of a convicted sex offender who is considered a high risk to become involved in further sexual offences.

Winston George Thomas, 35, is being released from Headingley Correctional Centre and is expected to live in Winnipeg.

He has two previous convictions for two counts of sexual assault, two counts of assault and aggravated assault as well as many other criminal offences.

Although Thomas has participated in some sex offender treatment programs, females of all ages are at risk of sexual violence, police said.
