Cooler temperatures expected heading into the weekend

  • Print

First the good news: expect a lot of sunshine over the next couple days.

Unfortunately, and this is where the bad news comes into play, it won’t be as warm as it looks.

Below normal temperatures make up the weekend forecast from Environment Canada, with temperatures reaching 19 C. Today is calling for a high of only 18 C, thanks largely in part to a strong northwest breeze blowing 30 km/h gusting to 50 km/h throughout the afternoon and evening.

Tonight’s low should drop all the way down to 6 C.

The normal high/low for this time of year is 23 C and 10 C.

A similar sunny but windy day is forecast for Saturday, before the clouds move into the Winnipeg region Sunday. Look for a 60 per cent chance of showers to close out the weekend.

Now that former cabinet minister Theresa Oswald has entered the NDP leadership race, do you believe the "gang of five" rebel ministers were right to publicly criticize Premier Greg Selinger's leadership?
