Cross Lake woman dead after collision

A 67-year-old Cross Lake woman died when she failed to buckle up and was thrown from her station wagon during a single-vehicle accident Wednesday.

The incident occurred just after 2 p.m. on Hwy. 374 near Cross Lake when the unidentified woman’s 2007 Chevrolet station wagon left the road and rolled at least once.

Cross Lake RCMP and local emergency services workers found the woman outside her vehicle and transported her to the Cross Lake Nursing Station where she was pronounced dead.

No other vehicles were involved, but police continue to investigate.

Cross Lake is located about 120 kilometres south of Thompson.
