Cyclist killed in collision near St. Anne

A cyclist from Lorette was killed Monday morning while riding near Ste. Anne.

At about 10 a.m. the 70-year-old man was riding his bike southbound on Highway 12 when he was struck by a 2000 GMC heavy truck, also travelling south.

The cyclist was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name will not be released.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

Road conditions and visibility were reported to be good at the time of the collision. Alcohol and speed are not considered factors in the collision.
