Donor family honoured in Y camp's new name
The YMCA-YWCA has changed Camp Y’s name to Camp Douglas to honour one of its donors, the Winnipeg YMCA-YWCA announced last week.
The camp, located near Woodlands Manitoba about 34 kilometres north of the city, was renamed in honour of longtime camp supporters Bryce and Nicki Douglas and their family. The Douglas family made a generous donation to the YMCA-YWCA’s last Camp for Kids Capital Campaign, the organization said.
The Winnipeg YMCA-YWCA took over the former Salvation Army Camp Woodlands in spring 2010. It’s organization’s newest camp.
