Driver able to walk away after semi-trailer truck rolls

The driver of a semi-trailer truck narrowly escaped serious injury after the vehicle rolled while attempting to turn onto Wilkes Avenue from the Perimeter overpass this morning.

The truck, which was carrying a full load of limestone, came to rest upside down on the grassy shoulder.

"When I went up to the truck he was crawling out," said Kathy Nicholson, who arrived at the scene moments after the crash.

"He was obviously injured, left shoulder and he walked away, sat down and the ambulance was called."

Traffic in the area was affected while crews cleaned up the scene.
