Dugald man faces more charges of sexual assault

For the second time in two years, a Dugald man faces charges of sexual assault.

RCMP said a 25-year-old Winnipeg woman had contacted Winnipeg police Sunday, alleging that she had been sexually assaulted in Dugald.

RCMP officers from the Oakbank detachment took over the investigation, interviewing the victim and arrested a suspect Sunday.

Chauncey Elijah Mustard, 30, of Dugald, has been charged with sexual assault, forcible confinement, choking to overcome resistance and breach of probation.

Mustard had been charged with sexual assault in January 2011 for an attack in February 2010, where a 26-year-old Winnipeg woman alleged she was taken from the city to a rural location and sexually assaulted.

Mustard was acquitted of the charge at a trial in December 2011.

Mustard remains in custody on the recent charges.
